Piper’s Pals began with two dogs who meant the world to us — Piper and Swaggy, our family’s beloved companions and the very best of friends. Then, heartbreakingly, we lost them both suddenly, within a short time of one another. Our home, once so full of their energy and warmth, fell impossibly quiet.
In the depths of that grief, we found an unexpected way forward: opening our door to dogs who had nowhere else to go. Fostering rescues in need became our way of honoring Piper and Swaggy — of turning heartbreak into something tender and hopeful, and giving other dogs the love, safety, and second chance every one of them deserves.
The name says it all. Swaggy was, and always will be, Piper’s pal. Now every dog who comes through our doors becomes one too — welcomed, cared for, and loved until the right family finds them. In each rescue we help home, a little of Piper and Swaggy lives on.
